Hello

I am James Winterburn, a photographer based in West Yorkshire, UK.

Photography has always been an interest for me but it’s only recently that I have decided to make it my career.

When I finished at Leeds College of Art & Design everyone was talking up computers - so I pivoted and wandered down that path. I kept taking photos along the way and the walls at home are full of memories from holidays. Looking back, it feels obvious that this is what I should have been doing all along.

Cars and motorsport have always been a passion of mine so it made sense to photograph what you know. On my first proper day out with a new focus and drive I attended Modified Live at Cadwell Park and was lucky enough to win the photography competition - a key moment that gave me confidence and belief that I was now doing the right thing.
